I’m considering permanently having my eyes rolled into the back of my head, for the sheer amount of comments that have been blasted my way is starting to dull my senses. Earlier i claimed that the England players are not worthy of wearing the badge again for this dismal display. However, I remember quite clearly stating that when the groups were first announced and we were dubbed as having the “easiest group”, I can actually recall saying, “yeah, and just watch England cock it up.” – which we most certainly have.
So what’s the answer?

Well, plenty of people feel obliged to tell me what the answer is and i wouldn’t have it any other way – however, for the moment, i can clearly adhere to the fact that we are playing players out of position, and picking reputation (mostly by the media) rather by the people in form and the people who deserve to be there.

I should state first of all that Scott Parker should be in there, ahead of Michael Carrick. Carrick finished second with the Red Devils and Parker finished 17th with the Hammers, and he STILL had a better season than him – doesn’t that speak volumes in it self? Any supporter worth their salt can admit that. Parker carried that team, you could tell him desperately wanted to be chosen in the last 23, but alas he wasn’t.

Another annoying issue is this Gerrard on the left business. He doesn’t play there for Liverpool, therefore he is not used to it – do not put him there. He scored off of Heskey, by playing just behind him – which is his perfect position and one that he does fantastically well with Torres at Liverpool – it’s just common sense.

Furthermore, I’ve had enough of Heskey now. Yes, he does his job – but he does only that. If we’re trailing, or we need to be more aggressive, you won’t see a change in his pattern at all – it’s time he went out and i think 99% of the British population agrees with me.

That’s my personal line-up, we need to bring in Joe Cole who can mix things up and play with a bit of flair. Rooney gets one last shot at making something happen and hopefully proving he is match-fit. Hart in goal, because he is a better keeper than both Green and James and clearly has the passion to strive for it more (as shown in the U-21 championships). Upson is a better CB than Carragher fact (and Carragher didn’t even contribute to the Qualifying campaign, so why should he be there?)

I’ve had my rant – it’s do or die for England, in Sporting terms, it resembles 1944 and D-Day, of course that could never be associated with sport, but you get the picture. We need momentum and we need it fast.
